On March 26, 2020, the Meeting Procedures (COVID-19 Suppression) Regulation, Alta Reg 50/2020 was approved by way of Order in Council. In light of the present COVID-19 public health emergency, and in accordance with other social distancing measures already put in place by the Government of Alberta, this Regulation is designed to allow for meetings and hearings under the Municipal Government Act (the “MGA”) to be held in a manner that avoids exposing persons to COVID-19 (Regulation, s. 2).
